INTERVIEW Q1

Why did you choose Kagawa as your study-abroad destination?

Takamatsu, Kagawa is a very convenient city, so I have no trouble with daily life. Halal ingredients are available at supermarkets, too, so if you cook for yourself, I don’t think you’ll have any problems. Even if you don’t cook, there are Indonesian restaurants these days, so I don’t think you’ll be worried about food.

I go out into town with colleagues and junior staff from the hotel, and we often visit vintage clothing shops and cafés. They show me lots of stylish spots around the city. I’ve made more Japanese friends, and I’m really enjoying my time here.

Why did you choose Kagawa as your study-abroad destination?

Because the atmosphere of the city felt similar to Pokhara, my hometown in Nepal. This is my 12th year in Japan, and I’ve visited many places, but I recommend Kagawa as a compact, easy-to-live city.

Goals for the future

I want to use my experience in the hotel industry to build a Japanese-style hotel in my home country, Nepal. Japanese omotenashi is highly valued around the world, and I want to offer it and spread it through a hotel in Nepal.
